Herefordshire Russet
A recent eating apple - good for juicing.
Deep golden amber russet. Very flavoursome and aromatic, a winner in many taste testings.
A hardy tree, well shaped and a good cropper. Easier to grow than Cox's and disease resistant.
Bred by Hugh Ermen in Kent, in 2002, its parentage being Cox's Orange Pippin and Golden Delicious.
Permission to use photograph by Kevin Garrod (Monnow Valley Cider) is gratefully acknowledged.
