Anglesey Sweet Jane

Sale price£24.00

A sweet and juicy Welsh eating apple.

Irregular in size and shape, in the main medium to roundish fruit, yellow with streaks of light green, some russet around stem.

Found growing at Lord & Lady Boston’s land on Anglesey. Believed by family members to be from a tree over 100 years old. Named after the sister of the current owner and the sweetness of the apple.

What will my trees be like when they arrive?

Our trees are supplied as bare root trees in the dormant season (usually December - March).

  • 1 year old "maiden" trees will usually arrive as a single, flexible stem (or some varieties will also have some side-shoots). Our 1 year-old trees are at least 90cm tall and can be up to 150cm (3ft - 5ft).
  • Our older trees are 2 or 3 years old, usually have some branching and may have some fruit buds. They are between generally 110cm and 150cm (4ft - 5ft).

Trees that have grown over 150cm will be pruned to a bud at the top to fit into the packaging.

Excellent!

Received 2 lovely old Welsh apples trees through courier, and could not believe how well they arrived as if I had just dug them up- well done Tyn y Berllan! Both had strong and extensive root systems for whips. Extremely pleased and would certainly buy again some. Da iawn chi!

Da Iawn! Diolch yn fawr Einir!
